Due to health issues resulting from his heart episode last year, Grandpa Young isn't allowed to climb ladders anymore. Since climbing ladders is a large part of being an electrician, he decided to retire early. Closing out a business is a lot of work, and he and Grandma have been busy making all the arrangements over the past few weeks. While it is sad to see the family business close after 30 years, Grandpa is looking forward to having time to putter around the house engaging in hobbies, cooking Grandma dinner, and being a house husband.
Last weekend, Grandpa let us go through the things in his office and shop. Erin, Ian, and Megan got a lot of fun things, such as label makers, string, pens, tape, paper clips (why does Megan think she needs so many?), screwdrivers, wrenches, switch plates, and other odds and ends. Kevin and April are really happy about acquiring some more bookcases and some folding tables. Anyone out there need a pronghorn head mount for their living room? Kevin says he really doesn't want it in our sun room.

I can't believe it's been so long! Those are great pictures. I hope you got some things to have fun with! When we can finallly get out of the building we can really start to retire! Go fishing, camping, all the things Grandma likes to do!
Happy Father's day!
Grandpa Young
That makes me a little sad, thanks for taking pictures for us!
Are the kids still making belts out of the label maker? How is sweet Erin's chin?
I like the way you call a very-near-death-experience a "heart episode". But thanks for taking pictures (after all, I was an RK Young employee for at least 5 weeks at one point in my life).
